Expecting My Miracle

By Curtis Rimer

Miracles come by faith in God’s present power, not ritual or formula of human works or willpower.  We must employ God’s authority by putting faith into action through the spoken word.           Faith needs to be in two places:  In our heart; In our mouth.

1 Corinthians 12:28  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles,

secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. KJV)  Note the importance God has Placed on Healings in the Church.

It’s so easy to complain, to strike out at others, or perhaps resign our self to our situation when in need of a healing.  According to God’s Word all of these responses are wrong.  We must ask God to help us and believe that he will.  He can heal our health, take away our pain (bodily or emotional), touch our

marriages, forgive our sin, and heal our unbelief or whatever our problem.  He can either remove it or give us a new perspective on the trouble – or give us the strength to endure it.

Put Spiritual Laws into Motion

Employ God’s authority; God is no respecter of persons, if he healed others he can heal you; Ask and Believe that you were healed, Don’t pray “If it is Gods will”, It is God’s will; Our mouth can be our own worst enemy, there is power in positive thinking and speaking; Allow God to use you, be a channel of God’s healing power.

God’s Law Can Not Fail!

God’s word is an extension of God’s truthful character.

(Luke 16:17  And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. KJV)

His Word is Tried

All of the Lords promises have been proven true.  The Word of God is fail-proof.  Not one word has failed.  (Psalms 18:30  [As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him. KJV)

Lean on God, Not Man

Jesus gives assurance that however powerless we are to make things happen.  He will give us the power to accomplish His will.  (Matthew 19:26  But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. KJV)

He Gives us Power

(Hebrews 2:4  [Besides this evidence] it was also established and plainly endorsed by God, Who showed His approval of it by signs and wonders and various miraculous manifestations of [His] power and by imparting the gifts of the Holy Spirit [to the believers] according to His own will. AMP) such manifestations are ministered by the Holy Spirit in the spread of the gospel.

(Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto [him] his twelve disciples, he gave them power [against] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. KJV) Strong’s defines a disciple as a learner; one how follows both the teaching and the teacher.  It was first used to describe the first 12; today it describes you and me.

We Are to be a Channel of God’s Healing Power

(Matthew 10:7-8  And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand! Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give. AMP)

Lay Hand on The Sick

(Acts 28:8-9  And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: KJV) Here is reference to divine healings in spite of the fact that Luke, a physician, accompanied Paul.  God heals by many means:  prayer of faith; natural recuperative power; medical aid or medicine; miracles.

God Does the Unusual and Extraordinary

God Can use any object or person (Man, Woman, or Child)

he chooses to flow his anointing through.  (Acts 19:11-12  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. KJV)

We Have the Power and Anointing

(Isaiah 61:1  THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, AMP)

Call on the Elders

The application of Oil is an outer sign of faith and an o

pening to the healing power of God.  We know it is God who heals, w

hether through a direct miracle or through a medical miracle.  The anointing

must be in the name of Jesus.  It is He who heals and not the oil.  (

James 5:14  Is any sick among you?  let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: KJV)

Ask, Seek, Knock

*

Hear the Word  *Receive the Word  *Believe the Word   *Live the Word

Notice we must not stop asking or seeking Gods will.

We must not give up.  There is a posture we take in our spirit-man of receiving.

We eliminate fear, doubt, unbelief, and just receive.  (

Matthew 7:7  Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. AMP)

We Have Confidence that He Hears Us

True prayer is founded upon agreeing with God’s will.  (1 John 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: KJV)

Ask in Jesus Name

Take the lid off your expectations.  God is a big God, expect a lot.  For example:  Not “Fill My Cup Lord, but “Fill my Truck Lord”.  (John 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. KJV)

He Took our Sickness and Bore our Diseases

We must believe in God’s word, this is where it starts.  (Matthew 8:17  And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases. AMP)

If We Ask & Believe, He Will Do It

We will perform works that are greater in scope and number, however, not in value or significance.  (John 14:12  I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. AMP)

According to Your Faith

Real faith gives birth to real action.

Faith is what you belief and your trust and reliance in what you believe.  Remember,

David trusted God so much he only took 5 stones to defeat Goliath.  David used one stone

for Goliath and four stones for each of his brothers.  (

Matthew 9:28-29  When He reached the house and went in, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance [on the power invested in Me] be it done to you; AMP)

If You Believe You Will Receive

(Matthew 21:21-22  And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive. AMP)

Give God All The Credit and Glory

Be Humble,

God will not share his Glory.  We must keep our eyes off the vessel God is using.  It is good to honor the vessel, but it is the

Holy Spirit does the work, he gets the glory.  (John 7:18  He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. KJV)

Glorify God in All Things

(1 Peter 4:11  If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. KJV)

Ask God to Heal our Unbelief

Unbelief is sin because it shows lack of trust in God.  Trust God, Fear Not, Expect Results – We serve a big God.  Faith stands up against the facts.  Remember 12 spies went into the promise land.  Only Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report.  They were the only 2 who went in to possess the promise land in the end.

Keep Thoughts Under Control

If we allow our thoughts to wonder in can lead us deep into depression or deeper into sin.  (2 Corinthians 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; KJV)

God is on Our Side, We Can Make it, Through Him

In Romans Paul asks an unanswerable question designed to give believers a profound assurance of spiritual security.  (Romans 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?;  Romans 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. KJV)

Nothing is Impossible With Faith

Jesus says our faith in God is like a seed, when we put our faith into action, that is, when we release it to God, it takes on a totally new nature.  It takes on the nature of a miracle in the making.  (Matthew 17:19-20  Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. KJV)

Nothing is Impossible With God

(Mark 10:27  And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.(KJV)

Heal my Unbelief

The Jews built up Elijah as a man who never wavered or doubted.

Yet, if we read about him in the OT, we see this prophet had his moments of doubt

and questioning.  He was a man just like us.  In the NT James uses Elijah

as an example of how God does answer our prayers.

(Mark 9:23-24  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. KJV)

Explanation of Faith

The world was made by the word of God so that what we see was made from nothing.

Expectation draws virtue from the Holy Spirit.

It is the intensity of faith increasing in us.

(Hebrews 11:1 & 3  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. KJV)

Don’t Hold Back On God

Seek first the Kingdom of God, press in, be continually filled, be a willing spirit. Some Breakthroughs Require Prayer and Fasting  (Mark 9:29  And He replied to them, This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting. AMP)

He Sent His Word

Speaking the word to the sick carries power.  (Psalms 107:20  He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered [them] from their destructions. KJV)

Don’t Ask “What Would Jesus Do?”  Do What Jesus Did

Put your faith into ACTION.  Don’t just think about it, DO IT!  Don’t just talk about it, LIVE IT!  (James 1:22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.)

Continue To Pray Till You Get Your Answer

At one time Elijah Prayed earnestly that it would not rain.  By earnestly, I do mean he p

rayed louder or with more emotion than others.  But he continued to pray until he got his answer.

(Philippians 4:6  Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. AMP)

Pressing in For The Prize

It’s like a runner on the course straining every muscle as he runs toward his goal, his hand out stretched to grasp it.  (Philippians 3:13-14  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. KJV)

Press in Till You Get Your Miracle

A woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed by anyone, Came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood ceased.

We need to press in and deliberately touch Jesus and be made whole.  (

Luke 8:48  And He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your confidence and trust in Me) has made you well! Go (enter) into peace (untroubled, undisturbed well-being). AMP)

Seek God’s Will

Sometimes we seek immediate, particular healings and we do not get them.  But that does not mean that God has not healed us.  God heals in different ways.  Sometimes He allows us to struggle and grow over time as healing slowly takes place.  Other times He may not give us a physical healing but rather provide us with the strength to endure our illness or struggle.   Sometimes God allows diseases or handicaps to continue for his sovereign purposes.

Remember Abraham and Sarah had to wait 25 years for God to perform a miracle in giving them a child when they were in their nineties.

Paul says in 2 Cor 12, about his infliction, his thorn in the side He prayed for healing but never got it in the physical.  He learned to endure it by relying on God’s strength.

It has been said by some “In Death we can have the greatest miracle of all for a believer.  Death is the final healing!”  When we die and join our Father in heaven -  NO SICKNESS IN HEAVEN.  Remember, God does it his way and in his time!

(Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. KJV)

God Gives Us Hope

(Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. KJV)

We Live by The Word

We can know what God’s will is by getting into the word.

Strong’s defines “word” as:  Logos - The Message and Rhema - Communication of the message.  (Matthew 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every “word” that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. KJV)

The Word is Alive and Powerful

We must take the sword out of its sheath for its power to work.  We need to read the Bible, meditate on the Word, and speak forth the scriptures.  (Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV)

In Everything Give Thanks

Stop complaining, count your blessings, have hope, praise God anyway with a sacrifice of praise.  Remember how David used the power of music in restoring Saul to health and vigor.   Choruses, Hymns, or other scripture put to music have a way of soothing ones soul.  Music lifts the heart and renews the mind in unique ways.  Often music has a way of driving out evil forces and thoughts while replacing them with the triumphant sound of Jesus.

Give Thanks To The Lord

(1 Chronicles 16:34  O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! AMP)

Sing Unto The Lord

(Psalms 147:6-7  The Lord lifts up the humble and downtrodden; He casts the wicked down to the ground. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises with the harp or the lyre to our God!  AMP)

Rebuke Satin, He Must Flee In Jesus Name

Jesus has given us power over spiritual enemies and demonic power of which serpents and scorpions are symbols.  (Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. KJV)

Put on The Whole Armour of God

Prayer in the battle, God’s Word is our chief weapon employed against Satin during our struggle.  (Ephesians 6:10-11  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. KJV)

Be Prepared for Acts of Spiritual Warfare

Be sure you are pure in body, mind, soul, and spirit before entering into acts of spiritual warfare.  Otherwise you are making yourself vulnerable to all kinds of attacks by the devil.  (2 Corinthians 10:3-4  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds NKJV)

Satin is a Liar and Deceiver

(John 8:44  ….He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false. AMP)

Turn From Evil;  Turn To God

When we truly set our affection on God, the lusts of the flesh are reduced.

We need to repent of our sins and change our ways.

James says that if a man sinned, he would be forgiven.  If the sin caused the illness, then he will be healed of both the illness and the cause.

(1 John 2:15  Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. AMP)

Love Your Brother

(1 John 2:11  But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. KJV)

Ask Forgiveness to Those You Have Offended

James talks about confession of sins to the individuals injured by the sick person.

Also, There is also a place for confidential confession to Godly intercessors who will offer prevailing prayer to the offender and wise counsel.

(James 5:16  Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. AMP)

Forgive Others

We need to adopt the forgiveness of others into our daily prayer life.  (Matthew 6:14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: KJV)

Return To Your First Love

(Hosea 6:1  COME AND let us return to the Lord, for He has torn so that He may heal us; He has stricken so that He may bind us up. AMP)  We do not have all the answers for all of our questions, but we must follow God’s word.  It tells us to call on the elders who will anoint us with oil and pray for us and we will be healed -  because of our skepticism we would rather build bridges over the Red Sea and ignore God’s word.

Do you worry about your health?  Is your body plagued with pain?  Your miracle is letting the Lord have his way, stop your worrying; God knows what he is doing, rest in his arms and call upon his name.  Wait for your miracle.  Have faith and be willing to participate, have hope.

The Hebrews were not freed in a week and you won’t either, but in time a miracle will come if you will say as Mary did,  “I am the Lord’s servant…..may it be as you have said.”
